You know all those jokes about putting lipstick on a pig? (Or, alternatively, putting a hog in armor?) Well, it turns out dressing a pig up can actually be pretty effective — so long as that pig already famous. Which is why InStyle magazine partnered with some of the coolest designers working today to dress the one and only Miss Piggy for the November issue.
In it, the world’s favorite porcine puppet dresses up in everyone from Jason Wu, Prabal Gurung, Brian Atwood, Opening Ceremony, Giles & Brother and Suno — all of it custom-made to fit her body and hooves. It’s another way to give her already fashionable image even more fashion credibility before she stars as a Vogue Paris editor in the new move The Muppets. Gurung told Women’s Wear Daily that his dress features an Empire waist because it “really complements her figure.” Pity they couldn’t get Zac Posen and Christian Louboutin, who made Miss Piggy’s movie costumes, to join in on the shoot.
Our friends at InStyle would only give us the photo of Gurung’s creation — but you als can see Wu’s ostrich-feather dress below. Want to see the rest? The only way is to pick up InStyle‘s November issue when it hits newsstands on Friday. Check out the photos below.
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
