WIth all the high fashion names getting thrown around the City of Lights this week, we doubt that many people were having charitable thoughts towards anything but their own closets. But leave it to Natalia Vodianova to rein in all the convening star power and channel it towards the greater good.
The supermodel feted the launch of her shoe line with online retailer Net-A-Porter, the proceeds of which will go to benefit her Naked Heart Foundation, with a party at Paris hotspot Caviar Kaspia that was studded with the likes of Karlie Kloss, Mario Testino, and Ulyana Sergeenko. The foundation sponsors the creation of playgrounds and parks in Vodianova’s native Russia, and to date has been instrumental in the placement of over 100 of them throughout the country.
Vodianova’s “fairytale shoes,” as she calls them, are a simple pair of closed toe pumps, and were designed in collaboration with Russian accessories retailer Centro. They’ll sell for $105 on Net-A-Porter — easily one of the cheaper options on the site, in spite of founder Natalie Massenet confirming Vodianova’s assertion that the shoes are well-made, don’t fall apart, and are “leg-lengthening.” Always good.
The caché of wearing Vodianova-designed pumps, coupled with all the other famous feet sporting them (see the aforementioned guest list), means that these shoes will probably be hard to come by, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled. All in the name of philanthropy — and leg lengthening!
