Perhaps we’re just desperately missing Helen Mirren and her stripper heels, but the ladies of Red 2 left us yearning for more this time around.
At the New York premiere of their action-slash-comedy, stars Catherine Zeta-Jones and Mary-Louise Parker proved that the second time is definitely not the charm. Zeta-Jones opted for a slit-to-there selection from Michael Kors’ Fall 2013 collection, and while we’re sure that men were still lining up to gawk at the sultry star, we think it was a case of a bandage-inspired dress gone wrong. As often is the case with S&M garb, it was one strap too many, and didn’t do the 43-year-old star and her unbelievable physique any favors.
Parker’s look, on the other hand was just yawn worthy. She may be throwing in the towel on the acting front, but that doesn’t mean her red carpet style has to suffer because of it. (Yes, we see the irony in mocking her sartorial choices when that’s precisely the reason she’s shrinking from the limelight, so we’ll just add that the LBD would surely turn suitors’ heads, we just found it a bit boring).
Thankfully, attendees who were not in the film were there to save the day. Olivia Palermo, who we’ll go on record as saying has never gotten it wrong, fought the heat in another chic white dress, making it a true statement look in an oversize beaded necklace and frilly tribal-inspired shoes. It seems The City star is become a movie premiere mainstay, and we don’t hate it.
Revenge actress Margarita Levieva, the one who will never stop inducing hair envy, wore an on-trend printed jumpsuit that she paired with hot pink, pointed pumps; an easy, yet fun look we totally approve of.

this is some kind of spaceship or something.
