Sadly, the Olympics are over, but the athletes are just starting on their media rounds. On Monday night, gymnastics’ all-around gold medalist Gabby Douglas had a grand ol’ time with Michelle Obama on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, and last night, she was joined by the rest of the Fab Five (or Fierce Five) on the Late Show With David Letterman. The girls brought their gold medals, giggled at every one of Letterman’s lame jokes, and were the most chatty as we’ve ever seen them. This just makes us miss watching the Games even more!
Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Jordyn Wieber, Kyla Ross, and Aly Raisman changed out of their sparkly leotards, and into cute and girly outfits for their first late night appearance as a team. Of course, Letterman asked Maroney about her famous “unimpressed” facial expression as she received the silver medal in vault, chatted about their experiences at the Games, and gave the ladies props for being an inspiration to girls everywhere.
And is it just us, or do Ross and Maroney look terribly uncomfortable on that couch? It’s apparently new and from Ikea, but it also looks too short for the gymnasts:
