One Million Moms is launching another attack against J.C. Penney. This time, the conservative group is pissed that the retailer’s May catalog features a lesbian couple.
According to their website, One Million Moms is angry that J.C. Penney isn’t “remaining neutral in the cultural war” on gay rights.
On pages ten and eleven, under the title “Freedom of Expression,” you’ll find “Wendi and her partner Maggie and daughters” and again “Wendi, daughters Raven and Clover, and partner Maggie” in text. In the picture both women are wearing wedding bands.
One Million Moms is telling supporters to contact J.C. Penney store managers and ask why — and to what end — Wendi and Maggie were described as partners, in the hopes that managers will pass the complaint on to corporate.
For what it’s worth, we are totally on board with the catalog’s message. But tell us your thoughts below.
