Since Jessica Simpson launched her clothing line in 2006, it has made millions upon millions (upon millions) of dollars, and her’s is the most successful celebrity fashion line to date. Now her sister Ashlee Simpson is jumping on the cash wagon and developing her own line.
Simpson confirmed to Life & Style magazine that she’s currently in the works creating a line that she claims will be “adult” and “definitely” different from her sister’s designs. Throughout the years, the younger Simpson’s style has always differed greatly from Jessica’s, so that’s no shock. But she’s by no means a fashion icon, so unlike, say, Rachel Zoe, the younger Simpson’s diving into fashion design is a bit more risky.
She’s not a complete novice, though. If you weren’t a tween in 2011, you might not remember that back then, Ashlee and Jessica actually co-created a line called Girls for young kids. Nevertheless, branching out into “adult” designs will certainly prove a different challenge, especially without her older sister in tow.
Ashlee Simson feels confdent in her sartorial abilities, though. “I think there’s a time and a place for certain outfits, and for me, it’s also about comfort and kind of finding your own way with clothes,” she says. “Knowing there is a time to mix and match and what mixes and matches [is always important]. It’s always good to try, though!”
While we agree that it’s “good to try,” (and while she’s certainly had a fair share of successful outfits) we’ve got to say, there are definitely some looks from Simpson’s past that we hope not to see influencing her new line. Check them out below.
