Confession: we’re kind of obsessed with Jessica Stam. We used to see her daily on our walk to work from our old apartment and, also, she’s Canadian. But after seeing photos of her New York City pad, we’re even more obsessed because, mainly, we want to live there.
Stam spoke to Elle magazine about her one-bedroom off Union Square, and admitted that she actually went through two rounds of decorating before she was happy. The first time around, Stam had a decorator friend do up the whole place for her, but she wasn’t quite happy with the results.
“While she loved the Ginger Rogers girlish-deco results (pastels, satin, floral metallic wallpaper) in theory, after spending a year and a half there, a dissatisfaction set in. “I just needed to tweak it,” she says, tentatively, because she likes her decorator friend very much, “to make it my own.”
