This weekend was the Royal Coronation Festival at the Gardens of Buckingham Palace, a unique one-time event celebrating the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabath II‘s coronation. The festival was a ticketed event open to the public and, according to the its website, “giving visitors the opportunity to explore the Gardens and buy, sample and experience the wide range of products and services from the exhibitors.” Sounds like it was essentially the world’s greatest pop-up shop.
Since it was in the Queen’s honor, there was a “royal preview” (where the royals got to see the event before it was open to commoners) and gala performances. Unfortunately, Kate Middleton was not in sight (we heard she might have head some other things on her plate?) but there were appearances from Pippa, Princess Eugenie, and the Queen herself. And as usual, they all wore some pretty dresses. The Queen in particular looked gorgeous in her white and blue floral dress, and her lipstick color at the Gala was spot on. She’s been on the throne for a long time, but she is still killin’ it.
