Don’t get the wrong idea. We love rich solid hues. Metallics and neutrals make our world spin. Jewel tones practically dizzy us with excitement. BUT, there’s just something so scintillating about a beautifully crafted, placed, and positioned pattern or print. From florals to abstracts, geometric lines to starbursts, the prints that have come out of Resort 2014 so far have us elated.
Resort toes the line between the big guys–Fall and Spring–and the smaller sub collections, usually infusing the fashion landscape with a breath of fresh air. It’s not easy to choose favorites, when collections like Rebecca Minkoff‘s flashed an array of eye-popping prints, or while Oscar de la Renta‘s collection blends high society silhouettes with feminine finishes. Michael van der Ham designed a veritable abstract garden and Gucci‘s Brazil-inspired collection took a turn to playful beach-ball prints. Here we drill down on the looks that made our eyes light up.
