Last night, a slew of Hollywood’s finest ladies took to the red carpet in London for Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards and whether or not they delivered any glamour is up for debate. Rita Ora put on the most ritz, wearing a silver and tulle confection by Marchesa. Others offered a series of shorter hemlines, and a whole lotta pants.
Jessie J’s electric blue top and pants ensemble, accessorized with a perspex clutch, was among the boldest, while Kylie Minogue opted for a ruffly coral Moschino number, which was an elegant choice for the pop star who so often relies on sexy designs.
Victoria Beckham, who sported a roomy black Maison Martin Margiela jumpsuit complete with a deep, V-cut bustier, left her favorite accessory, husband David, at home and went for a more compact option: their son Brooklyn.
The most puzzling look was certainly Hayden Panettiere’s Black Halo ensemble, which looked more suited to an office than evening affair. We might have even preferred a sparkly number from her Nashville character’s closet. Panettiere could take a few notes from Cara Delevingne, who paired her T-shirt — which just happened to have an image of Rihanna’s derrière with the words “Squeeze This!” — with tailored black trousers, red velvet heels, and a vermillion pout.
Also in the casual camp was Rashida Jones who, despite wearing Erdem pajamas, looked pretty great. The key to her look’s success lied in the slim-cut bottoms, which gave the floral set a bit of polish.
