When it comes to model casting, Prada is it. Forget the face that launched a thousand ships, this is the brand that launched a thousand faces. So we’re thrilled to see that for its Spring 2013 campaign, the house has brought back some of its biggest stars from seasons past.
Reppin’ the nineties is throwback Miuccia favorite Amber Valletta, along with industry veterans Kirsten Owen and Eva Herzigova, all gussied up in the label’s fuzzy florals and Japanese-inspired threads. Raquel Zimmermann and Sasha Pivovarova, forever the quintessential Prada girl in our minds, also mugged for photographer Steven Meisel in the stark, simple studio shots, reminding us why we used to plaster their campaigns on our walls way back when.
New-ish but notable mannequin Saskia de Brauw takes a break from shilling Chanel and Saint Laurent menswear to join the alums, and rounding out the pack are Irene Hiemstra, Maartje Verhoef, Vanessa Axente, Irina Kravchenko, and Sung Hee Kim, a slew of newbie models whose names you should take note of now, since they’re sure to be hot commodities in no time flat.
Oh, and in case you’re wondering, yes, those wacky leather toe socks make an appearance, too:
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
