We’re getting vibes of a noirish Edward Scissorhands, American Beauty or The Stepford Wives from Prada’s Fall 2013 campaign video. Though Prada needs no malfunctioning domestic sex robots to make the mundane fascinating.
The fashion house has brought back creative agency AMO to art direct the latest chapter in the ‘Real Fantasies’ series. This one’s set in a perfectly generic and color blocked slice of suburbia, in which everyday instants are collaged together to create a patchwork of warped normality. Answering a phone call, idly smoking a cigarette and channel surfing on a static-y TV have never looked so interesting.
Watch Amanda Murphy, Sung Hee and Aline Weber (plus a few Prada-enveloped boys) get subtly weird below. Clothes might be just an accessory in Miuccia’s ‘fashion as cinema’ ethos, but we’re convinced that if only we had a piece of the new collection to swan around in we could cancel Netflix, deactivate Facebook and still never want to leave the house again.
