Prince Harry may not have broken any laws (or even broken up any marriages) while partying in Las Vegas this weekend, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t going to feel the sting of the palace when he’s back on English soil. Almost the minute after naked photos of the prince leaked to the press yesterday, speculation began as to what the royal family’s response would be, and now various “insiders” are dishing the dirt to the press.
Us Weekly reports that older brother William (you know, that guy who married Kate Middleton) is seriously unimpressed with Harry’s antics after being informed of the cellphone snapshots this morning. Probably seriously embarrassed, too, given that this is a man that blushes at the very sight of a Kiss Cam. But while siblings not seeing eye-to-eye is nothing new, there’s also the matter of the Prince’s military involvement.
You see, in addition to being royalty, the 27-year-old party boy is a trained helicopter pilot with the Royal Air Force. And while we’re sure plenty of his colleagues spend their leaves of absence boozing, cruising, and hey, maybe even playing strip billiards, their photos don’t end up on TMZ afterwards. According to Us, Harry will face a stern scolding from his superiors when he’s back on duty:
“He will be reprimanded [by the army]. Officers should never bring the Service into disrepute, whether on or off duty. This display of social misbehavior has raised eyebrows.”
It probably didn’t help his case that while he was galavanting with a suite of naked girls armed with camera phones, his brother was staging a heroic rescue mission of two teenagers stranded at sea. Hey — maybe he should say he challenged Ryan Lochte to that 3AM nightclub pool race for training purposes!
