Come July, our homegirl Queen Elizabeth will celebrate the 60th anniversary of her coronation with a four-day Coronation Festival at the Buckingham Palace gardens. There’ll be lots of food, a fancy gala, and most importantly, fashion — and we’ve got all the deets.
The Festival is organized and hosted by the Royal Warrant Holders Association, a group of over 800 individuals and companies that have literally been given a stamp of approval from the Queen, Prince Charles, or the Duke of Edinburgh. Two hundred of the Royal Warrant holders will be displaying their wares at the Festival in four categories: Homes & Gardens, Food & Drink, Design & Technology, and our favorite — Styles, Pursuits & Pastimes.
For the Styles, Pursuits & Pastimes category, the gardens inside Buckingham Palace will be transformed into a topiary style catwalk showcasing four themes: Vintage Picnic (daywear), Reinvention (sustainable fashion), Best of British (bespoke tailoring), and Diamonds & Pearls (red carpet), according to the Daily Telegraph. Royal Warrant holders like Corgi Hosiery Ltd., Hunter Boots Ltd., House of Fraser Ltd., Henry Poole & Co., and more will show off their goods in the five shows each day of the festival before 400 lucky guests.
We’re going to cross our fingers and hope that the Festival will be so successful that the RWHA brings it stateside. In the meantime, tickets start at around $45, so get ’em now, peeps.
