PHOTOS: Queen Elizabeth Ditches Monochrome For Prints And Patterns

As much as we love seeing Queen Elizabeth in monochromatic outfits, we’re practically gushing over her recent style change up. Homegirl wore PRINTS! And PLEATS!

On Monday, the Queen hosted the International Olympic Committee at Buckingham Palace. She wore a white dress with a blue flower and green butterfly print. It wasn’t as punchy or bold as we expected, but hey, it’s the Queen — she can wear whatever she wants. She was also presented with her own set of Olympic medals because she’s so awesome.

Earlier today, Liz and Prince Philip stopped by Number 10 Downing Street to lunch with British Prime Minister David Cameron, wife Samantha, and past Prime Ministers like Tony Blair and Sir John Major. This is probably our favorite outfit yet: she donned a pleated dress (skirt?) with an all-over pattern, a boxy topper with printed trimming that matched the skirt, and a classic chapeau. BEST OUTFIT.

Just take a look:
