We don’t need to tell you that 9-year-old Quvenzhané Wallis, the youngest-ever nominee for Best Actress, is going to be the cutest thing to hit the red carpet at this year’s Academy Awards. But we will show you that she will be, by means of this adorable video of the Beasts of the Southern Wild actress meeting with Vogue‘s André Leon Talley.
Wallis, unlike the glossy’s February cover star Rooney Mara, is enthusiastic about all the festivities this time of year (awards season, for the uninitiated). “I just like partying,” she grins, although she sheepishly admits she forgot to do her homework amidst all of the excitement. She talks about her two dogs, who apparently aren’t the best of friends (“Yeahhhh…no,” she responds when Talley asks if they’re getting along) and even addresses the burning question of whether she has her Oscars attire all planned out.
While that query elicits a big shrug from the tiny actress, she does say that pink is her favorite color (like her sparkly Critics’ Choice number), and that she definitely won’t be wearing anything floor-length. As for why not, she explains, reasonably: “Because I might step on it and trip on it and I don’t want to humiliate myself.”
