Instead of doing her usual presentation this New York Fashion Week, Rachel Roy is showing her fall 2013 collection digitally. We had the pleasure of chatting with Roy about taking the digital road while she was filming her collection last week, and now we’ve got an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at her opulent wares.
Roy enlisted the help of hairstylist Ted Gibson, makeup artist Bobbi Brown, and nail artist Katie Hughes of butter LONDON to finish off each model’s look. Gibson worked hair into a textured and sexy wave, and said, “The look is very effortless, chic and downtown cool, the perfect contrast to Rachel’s refined and polished collection.” To offset Roy’s rich color palette and textured fabrics, Brown used “copper cream shadow and brown liner”, and finished with a strong brow, “slightly bronzed” cheeks, and a beige stained lip. Meanwhile, Hughes created a lux half-moon mani with La Moss (a dark oxblood hue) and Tea with the Queen (a rosy neutral).
Catch the show February 14 at 11 AM EST on Roy’s Facebook page, but in the meantime, get a sneak peek at the collection, and an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of her digital fashion show via the photos and video below!
