Rachel Roy’s Spring Line Is Bright, Bold & Internet-Friendly

“You guys know you’re the future, right?” Rachel Roy asked during an intimate bloggers’ luncheon that we were lucky enough to attend yesterday.

We blushed, naturally. Roy understands the power of the internet as both an editorial medium and a retail channel, which is why her eponymous label has recently expanded to include e-commerce. Her spring 2011 collection will be available online beginning February 10th, and we previewed the beautiful pieces alongside a few of our favorite bloggers as we sat on Ghost chairs, munched on Cipriani and indulged in some girl talk with the stunning designer.

The conversation veered from Roy’s favorite designers (Alber Elbaz and Rick Owens) to who she loves to dress (Michelle Obama and Diane Sawyer) to her philanthropic work (we went home with her UNICEF tote, signed by dozens of her friends — Oprah, Andre Leon Talley and Vera Wang among them). And, of course, we were able to try on items from her amazing spring 2011 collection. We fell in love with the bold prints, bright colors and flattering silhouettes that punctuate the line.

Roy is currently in intense Fashion Week prep mode (she’s even doing a juice cleanse to get herself ready), and we’re excited to see her show next week. We’ve included a few photos from the lunch, as well as some of our favorite looks from the collection, below. And as an added bonus, we’ve also included a video Roy did with the Man Repeller.
