Rick Santorum’s Sweater Vests Are Now For Sale!

We’re not sure why we’re surprised, but GOP candidate Rick Santorum is officially capitalizing on the buzz surrounding his signature look. For $100, fans can get their very own, Santorum-approved (and emblazoned!) sweater vest.

Santorum announced the news on CNN last night with Erin Burnett. When asked about the fact that the sweater vest he was wearing actually had his name on it, Santorum giddily revealed, “We’re selling ‘em now! We’re selling ‘em online! You can get them, I think, for… $100?”

And when Burnett expressed some (appropriate) sticker shock at the price tag, Santorum argued that you weren’t just paying for the vest. You were paying to be one with the vest. To wit: “Well, it’s part campaign donation, and part, well, part being with the vest!”

If you’re still not sure $100 is worth it, you should know that it comes with a very snazzy slogan. After some coaxing from Burnett and after asking an off-camera staffer if he can share the line, Santorum goes for it:

“One of my supporters said this is my Second Amendment vest: the right to bare arms.

Though Burnett called the line “so bad, it’s good,” we hate to break it to Santorum, but we’re pretty sure Michelle Obama got that one first.

We’ve included the video below, and a gallery featuring the sale page from Santorum’s website as well as the man himself modeling his eponymous vests.
