Roberto Cavalli is up there with Karl Lagerfeld and Vivienne Westwood when it comes to giving crazy quotes. Previously, he’s questioned Ralph Lauren’s sexuality and compared himself to god. Now, he’s turned his thoughts to the state of American fashion.
In an interview with Italy’s La Repubblica, Cavalli said:
“Just look at American fashion, which is almost fashion. It’s terrible and you almost can’t look at it, but it has been driven by a great journalist – Anna Wintour – who wants all women to be like her and to dress the way she does.”
And that might be the most backhanded compliment we’ve ever read.
