Robin Givhan Gets Laid Off From Newsweek

We hate to say it, but it looks like maybe Karl Lagerfeld was on to something with his disparaging comments about Newsweek earlier this year.

Not even fashion’s only Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist immune to the layoffs over at the beleaguered weekly, it seems. The company recently announced that it would be shuttering its print edition and switching to an all-digital format, a move which would necessitate shedding a substantial number of its staff.

Well, those layoffs are well under way and Daily Intel reports that Robin Givhan is among the employees who will be leaving at year’s end. Givhan joined the outlet in 2010, leaving her position as fashion editor of the Washington Post. As for what she plans to do next, she told Daily Intel: “I plan to work on my book about the 1973 Versailles fashion show and look for a new job.” And here’s hoping she finds one!
