Kensington Palace has unveiled the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s first official family portrait. In the photographs, which were taken by Kate Middleton’s father Michael Middleton at the Middleton family estate, the new mother cradles her royal bundle of joy, Prince Baby George, with a glowing Prince William by her side. One of the images even includes the family dogs, cocker spaniel Lupo and golden retriever Tilly. While the homespun photographs posses an undeniable of charm, there has been a lot of criticism about the quality of the images in comparison to royal portraits of the past. Yes, the lighting and focus could have been improved, but we think the images are totally in line with the couple’s modern approach to the throne.
Now, to answer the inevitable question of what Kate’s wearing: A $79 fuchsia dress by maternity brand, Seraphine.
