Queen E. and Kate weren’t there, but the guest list for the launch of Kensington Palace’s ‘Fashion Rules’ exhibition read like the royal family of London fashion. The exhibit opened to the public yesterday and tracks the opulent gowns worn by Queen Elizabeth, Princess Margaret and Princess Diana over four disparate decades.
Turning out for the launch was a cozy bunch of models, It girls, designers, and miscellaneous tastemakers from London’s upper echelons of cool. Pixie Geldof was a perfect advertisement for her date Henry Holland’s fashion house, wearing a leather skirt from House of Holland’s Resort 2014 collection with a pretty printed shirt, dark lipstick, and towering Mary Jane pumps in silver.
Tali Lennox had some equally impressive footwear hiding under her emerald green jumpsuit and street-style millinery, while Edie Campbell radiated nonchalant London cool a little closer to the ground. We’re digging her artfully disheveled white shirt, summery anorak, and sensible two-tone oxfords. Also toasting the Royals’ sartorial archives were Manolo Blahnik, Chloe Hayward, and Tallulah Harlech, the leather-clad spawn of Lagerfeld muse Amanda Harlech.
