Despite all of the cringe-worthy E! red carpet commentary and vacuous introductory voiceover (Jessica Chastain was looking “Zero Dark Flirty”? Really?!), there were actually some slam dunk moments on the Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet.
Claire Danes chose an unexpected one-shouldered Givenchy gown with a high slit and white patterned trim, but what really brought the look home was the statement makeup. The Homeland star chose shimmery gold shadow and a dark berry lip, which we couldn’t help but think would be just what a grown up Angela Chase would’ve worn.
Strapless was a huge trend for the evening, and although it’s not usually our favorite style, there were more than a few notable exceptions at the SAGs. Amanda Seyfried looked every bit the leading lady in navy Zac Posen — even if she did confess that she could barely walk while wearing it — while Kerry Washington solidified our sartorial crush when she stepped out in structured white Rodarte.
Marion Cotillard killed it as always in a feminine yet dramatic Christian Dior couture gown, and, unlike fellow Raf Simons acolyte Jennifer Lawrence, we’re almost certain she managed to keep it in one piece.

this is some kind of spaceship or something.
