Sarah Jessica Parker And Halston Heritage Part Ways

She’s a famous actress, a style icon, a perfumer, and a mom. But Sarah Jessica Parker can cross one thing off her over-achieving resume: chief creative officer at Halston Heritage.

Halston did not announce the split, but the August issue of Vogue, which SJP covers, notes the partnership, which began in January 2010, is over. The exact reasons for the brand and the actress parting ways are unknown, but the house’s financial troubles may be to blame.

Halston Heritage, which is currently co-owned by Hilco Consumer Capital and the Weinstein Co, has apparently hired an investment bank to grow its funds. We also know SJP was upset when the brand axed CEO Bonnie Thakar last fall, but it seems like too much time has passed for that to be the cause of her departure.

Whatever it is, we think there may have been some love lost considering Parker was tight-lipped about the split throughout her Vogue interview.

Regardless of her reasons for leaving, it’s been an interesting stint and we’ve enjoyed seeing SJP wearing the brand on the red carpet this past year. While she may not have had the designing chops the label had hoped for, we can’t imagine they were disappointed by the publicity she’s brought them.
