Attention all Sex and the City devotees: the CW will be developing The Carrie Diaries, a SATC prequel series about high school-aged Carrie Bradshaw.
This makes a whole lot of sense. We can’t imagine a teen drama living on HBO, and the CW specializes in the genre. (The network allegedly bought the project right there in the pitch room.) Furthermore, color us unsurprised that the project will be helmed by OC/Gossip Girl mastermind Josh Schwartz. Candace Bushell will be an executive producer of the show based on her novel of the same name, and the adaptation will be penned by former SATC/current Gossip Girl scribe Amy Harris. Despite earlier rumors, Sarah Jessica Parker and SATC creator Darren Star are not involved for now.
