When Royals Are Wearing S&M Style, You Know It Was A Good Party

What constitutes a first-class British party? Kate Moss, royals, and Rolling Stones, of course. Last night, London’s best descended upon Kensington Gardens for the Serpentine Summer Party, which we’re pretty sure was the fête of the season.

Proving that Brits are ever-adept at dressing for a swanky garden affair, Moss, Daphne Guiness, Naomi Campbell, Georgia May Jagger, Daisy Lowe, and Downton Abbey’s Joanne Frogatt donned a wide array of elegant designs by L’Wren Scott, who co-hosted the affair.

The designer herself wore a jaw-dropping gold sequin gown of her own, that fit in all the right places and made us wish that we could design our own custom frocks for every soirée we attend on the arm of Mick Jagger. Also there to appeal on behalf of American style, was Sarah Jessica Parker, who carried on her embellished streak in a shimmering beaded fringe flapper dress by Naeem Khan.

Representing the monarchy were Lady Beatrice and Lady Victoria Hervey. While Bea looked quite tea and crumpets in navy lace L’Wren Scott, Hervey wore a black shift dress with a garish gold chain print that seemed a little risqué for a woman of her stature. Not to mention, she topped off the look with an S&M-esque chunky gold choker. But perhaps she was bracing herself for some real revelry, which makes sense considering that Jagger, bandmate Ronnie Wood, James Franco, and Ewan McGregor all came later in the evening to get the party in full swing.

View all the lovely looks below, and good lucky choosing which L’Wren Scott confection strikes your fancy best. We’re still mulling it over!
