This morning, former Miss Pennsylvania Sheena Monnin appeared on the Today show to tell her side of the Miss USA controversy.
Monnin gave up her crown earlier this week and claimed that Miss USA 2012 was rigged. She alleges that a contestant, which has been revealed to be Miss Florida Karina Brez, saw a list of the Top 5 contestants before the Top 16 were even announced. Pageant owner Donald Trump said Monnin’s claims are false and threatened to sue her.
But Monnin sits down with Today‘s Ann Curry and sticks to her original story that Brez saw the list of names — even though Brez herself said she was just joking. Monnin also clarifies her previous e-mail to pageant officials, which cited the new rule to allow transgender contestants as the reason for her resignation.
