We have a vision of the future, and so too did the fashion-obsessed consumers and designers of the 1950s, whose designs are still with us today. But way back when, they had some pretty kooky ideas of what today’s women would wear on their feet.
Trend forecasting can be tough, but we think maybe the designers years gone by might have overstretched their imaginations when they had the costumer of the future in mind. High-heeled indoor slippers? Clear platforms with swans swimming in the soles? Florette-bedecked mules with perforated leather? Actually, that last one might fly for spring 2012.
