Target kicked off their shop-in-shop collaboration The Shops at Target last night with a bash in the Frank Gehry-designed IAC Building. The merch, from stores like Aspen beauty boutique Cos Bar and Conneticut décor haven Privet House, was displayed in artful installations, with Miami fashion favorite The Webster‘s colorful wares ushering in guests through a canopy of tangerine tank tops and bright printed frocks.
Emma Roberts, in a cardigan by The Webster for Target and a glittery Edie Parker clutch — “a new favorite”, according to the actress — deemed the collaboration “awesome” and told us she was excited to shop pieces from all of the stores involved.
And, while we had her undivided attention, we had to know: how wild were her weekends at Coachella? “I went back for the second week in a row, and let’s just say it was the best weekend of my life. I’ll leave it at that.” Long on the fun, short on the fabric. Our kinda girl.
Roberts, along with guests like January Jones and Lauren Bush Lauren took in DJ sets by Theophilus London and Chelsea Leyland, followed by surprise performances by Chairlift and Wilson Philipps. Unsurprisingly, we caught more than one group of fashion folk gleefully reenacting Bridesmaids during the band’s rendition of “Hold On”.
While we can’t wait to shop the wide array of covetable goods starting Sunday (available in-store and online!), we did walk away with a few goodies, including some seriously adorable dog accessories from Boston’s Polka Dog Bakery. Does this mean we need to adopt a dog? Survey says yes.
Check out the red carpet from the event below and do tell: whose looks do you think were right on Target, and who missed the mark?
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
