Michelle Siwy Files Million Dollar Lawsuit Against Current Siwy Owners

There’s trouble in paradise for Kate Moss’ favorite denim brand. Designer Michelle Siwy, who co-founded Siwy Denim in 2005, is suing the brand’s current owners after they allegedly went back on their word to grant her a stake in the company.

WWD reports that Siwy is asking for damages “in excess of $1 million” after Kris Park, whose company New Crew Production Corp acquired the denim label in 2009, made repeated promises to grant the designer a 32 percent stake and failed to follow through. Currently, Michelle Siwy is busy designing a brand new denim line for contemporary label Wildfox, so if you want a piece of her work (and not that of her corporate adversaries), we’d suggest you rush to snap that up come fall.
