If Solange Knowles isn’t getting a two-syllable damn from us, hell hath frozen over. We were especially struck by her look from last night’s performance at The Fader x vitaminwater #Uncapped Music Series which, considering that she’s a budding indie queen, appropriately took place at a Brooklyn laundromat.
Despite the lack of her signature equatorial hues, she hit a sartorial high note in Clover Canyon’s print-soaked Resort 2014 collection. Her cheeky matching sweater and pineapple short-shorts were equal parts fetching and functional as she winded down, shuffled, and swayed as only those hot-blooded Knowles sisters can.
But if you’re itching for more of that high-octane piquant that’s put her on the styling map, look no further than the statement heels and the ends of her famous stems. From the multicolor snakeskin swatches to pops of daffodil yellow, they had the songstress’ name written all over them. There was also her ’60s-era blue and orange eyeshadow that requires Pat McGrath precision to paint (not that this will stop us from trying), babydoll lashes, and matte nude lips. Sometimes with Solange, it’s all in the details.
