The fashion industry and the people who can make money off of it are always trying to come up with “new” and “interactive” ways to “engage” with the consumer. At worst, these attempts are nothing more than thinly veiled commercials and at best, they’re thinly veiled commercials that you actually enjoy watching. Fun! The latest version of this comes via a new YouTube channel called StrobeLikes which has already partnered with Rachel Roy, David Yurman, and Whitney Port.
The idea is for consumers (that’s us!) to see the clothes and the brand in a more “unique and special” way. Which means the company has also tapped online personas and tastemakers as models.
And so far, we’re fans! Mainly because of this absolutely amazing video for Rachel Roy, in which a variety of incredibly talented, cut, and well-dressed dancers bust a bunch of moves for the camera. Who feels like dancing? We do!
“Move” for Rachel Roy:
Sadly, Whitney Port’s video is a little less dynamic. But it’s still fun, in that bland, sunny California sorta way.
