Style.com’s Reality Show Has A Name, Is Now Casting

Last month, a few different sources confirmed the news that Style.com was diving into the world of reality television with their very own “docu-series.” As of today, that show has a name and is starting to sound a little less “real” than they’d initially promised.

According to a press release sent out last night, “STYLE.COM SEEKING TRENDSETTING NEW YORKERS TO BE THE NEXT BIG VOICE IN FASHION ON NEW DOCU-SERIES.” (The all-caps emphasis was theirs, not ours.) A few weeks ago, a source told The New York Daily News that all Style.com staffers depicted on camera would, in fact, work for Style.com (as opposed to, say, Elle’s nebulous villainess Olivia Palermo.) But this casting advertisement seems to suggest otherwise. The show, which is apparently called “North of Madison”, is looking for “those between the ages of 21 and 28 who express their love and hate for current trends via any legitimate outlet” to be what they’re calling “the next big voice in fashion.”

Since we know that Style.com party reporter Darrell Hartman is said to be one of the show’s main “characters,” it’s probably safe to assume that they’re not only casting for “the next big voice in fashion” but for “Hartman’s future love interest.” (Scare quotes ours.)

Fashionista notes that Doron Ofir — the agency in charge of casting the show — are the masterminds who cast Snooki in the cultural touchstone that is Jersey Shore, which we suspect bodes very well for North of Madison and its narrative arc.

We’ve pasted the full email below. What do you think? Will you watch?

Generate Productions, United Entertainment Group and Doron Ofir Casting, in conjunction with Style.com, officially confirm and announce the search for the next big voice in fashion.
North of Madison will offer the unprecedented opportunity to document your life and personal world as one  of NY’s most creative voices, minds and points of view.
Working with the online destination for all things style in an authentic TV series, you will define to audiences what it really means to be “en vogue.”
“We’ve seen the fashion competition shows and the stylized reality soap operas… it’s time we see the reality of what it truly means to be current, edgy and on the fore-front of trendsetting style. What it takes to get there is one thing. What it takes to stay there is another” says Doron Ofir.
Those between the ages of 21 and 28 who express their love and hate for current trends via any legitimate  outlet and are interested in applying to be apart of this series should email their Name, Phone, Photo and a Short Bio to: NorthOfMadisonCasting@gmail.com
