It’s prom season. A special time, a time of growing up and moving on, of memories and bidding farewell, and of catty contests in which certain people are singled out as superior to others based on nothing other than popularity. As such and in honor of such a, well, time honored tradition, Styleite has teamed up with Tumblr, Tiza, and Small Girls PR to throw its own prom — a fashion prom, if you will, and for a good cause, too.
Inspired by Bianca Caampued and Mallory Blair’s 30 day prom dress challenge sponsored by Tiza, we decided to celebrate their efforts with a good deed. And so, we all put our heads together and hand selected a host committee made of up fashion and media tastemakers like Carol Han and our editor friends at Refinery29 and the New York Daily News’ Gatecrasher column to help us pick and celebrate our nominees for fashion Prom King and Queen. But because we’re nothing if not suckers for a good cause, our race for Prom King and Queen will be determined by donations made in the nominees’ name to the LES Girls Club of New York.
Stay tuned for a post announcing our nominees — and then put your dollars and generosity to work by voting for your favorite.
And in the meantime, here’s a little inspiration:
