Rockstars and supermodels go together like peanut butter and Oreos, so it’s no surprise to us how excited the fashion industry has been about some of the original 90s supermodels starring in a new music video for Duran Duran. The video hasn’t been released yet, but a new spread in Harper’s Bazaar UK has a good idea of what the final product will look like.
Models Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova, Cindy Crawford, Helena Christensen and Yasmin Le Bon (who’s married to Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon) star in the video for the band’s new song Girl Panic! Jonas Akerlund, who directed Lady Gaga‘s videos for Paparazzi and Telephone, shot the video and the coordinating spread, in which the models take on the role of the band’s members at a very well-dressed rehearsal.
Campbell, for example, stars as Le Bon himself, wearing a smart velvet blazer and a hairdo that looks like a cross between David Bowie and the early tonsorial stylings of The Beatles. Christensen, meanwhile, plays Roger Taylor on the drum kit.
You can take a look at what the rest of the models are doing in the photos below, and read all about the shoot here.
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
