At the risk of sounding ungrateful, fashion week is hard on everyone. So it’s nice to hear that someone as “celebrated” — which is to say: someone with a front-row invite — finds it just as high school-ish and uncomfortable as we do.
“It’s why I wrote that blog post about sitting next to Anna Wintour and how, just, bizarre it was. And looking around at all these people who looked so miserable. I feel bad for the designer, too. You work on this thing for half a year and you put it out there and you hope people like it. That’s why something like a Rodarte show is so special because people let their guard down and let themselves enjoy it.
…I’m not going to go to a show like that where everyone is acting all snobby and pretend that it’s glamorous. It’s kind of pathetic. It’s so high school.
…You know, I’m really glad that I come home from fashion week to this room to just, you know, keep dreaming about things.
Lesson of the day: keep on dreaming.
