#TBT: Watch This Groovy ’60s Maidenform Ad

The trick's Trickelastic.

The ad in Mad Men’s “The Maidenform Episode”

In honor of Mad Men premiering Sunday night, here’s a look back at a real ad from one of their clients Maidenform.

Usually some guy mansplaining fashion to women 70 years ago makes us yawn. But we’ll gladly accept this Maidenform ad for the Trickelastic bra over the Dove beauty patch waterworks explosion that darkened our lives yesterday. This ad has everything: a warm disco pink glow over spinning bras, some very groovy teens, and the world’s greatest accent ever. How they got the riff from “Satisfaction” is beyond us, but we’re loving it.
