It’s official: Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana will be trading in their Baroque embroidery for prison stripes. Earlier this morning, an Italian court found the Dolce & Gabbana designers guilty of tax evasion and sentenced them each to one year and eight months of jail time. As we’d presume, the designers are expect to appeal the decision.
The designers have been under investigation since 2008, accused of avoiding to pay $540 million in taxes, but claimed it was an “absurd abstract calculation”. Apparently, it wasn’t.
