Last month, we heard rumors that Bravo was replacing Kelly Rowland as the host of its ailing “Project Runway” replacement, “The Fashion Show.” Initial reports pointed to Brazilian stunner and Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio, which we initially thought was a good fit, in light of her similarity to P.R. host Heidi Klum. They’re both moms, they both have adorable accents, and, most obviously, they’re both Victoria’s Secret models.
But the real replacement has blown even our wildest expectations out of the water. According to Bravo, supermodel, entrepreneur and wife of David Bowie, Iman has signed on to replace Rowland and join Isaac Mizrahi as co-host for the second season of the show.
In the press release, Iman said:
“I am so excited to be joining the Bravo team and to be working again with Isaac Mizrahi, my close friend of many, many years. I am also looking forward to all of the behind-the-scenes excitement and drama that is generated through the creative process of these undiscovered fashion designers. This will certainly be a show any follower of fashion will want to see.”
This might be the high-fashion infusion this show needed and we suspect Iman will have some concise and cutting criticism — which always makes for good TV.
