Laura Brown’s Back … and She Dragged Martha Stewart Along with Her

The thing we love most about Laura Brown is that she’s just such a personality, you know? Whether she’s carousing with Christy, chatting up Chung or showing Pharrell a swell time in Miami, she’s always her outrageous, let’s-have-another-drink self.

Some people, however, might not be so taken with the Bazaar editor’s high spirits — some people like Martha Stewart. In fact, in the long-awaited, triumphant return of The Look, Laura and Martha’s interactions are best illustrated by this GIF:

Guess who’s who.

Laura’s pestering or otherwise futile attempts to learn how Martha’s so great at everything — except we know she’s not great at everything — somehow leads to the revelation that the doyenne of domesticity wears black Manolo Blahnik … ankle boots, which is absolutely not the type of footwear you’d imagine her choosing. (She’s always struck us as more of a Roger Vivier flat or Ferragamo loafer kind of gal.)

But like someone who wears sensible shoes, Martha sniffs at ordering wine and lobster mac for lunch, sits in a Bergdorf’s pale blue canopy chair like it’s the Iron Throne and discloses the following nuggets of knowledge about her no-nonsense relationships with some of fashion’s finest: 1. Martha does not like Christian Louboutin’s red soles and she told him so. He laughed. 2. Martha sent paint chips to Tom Ford so he’d know exactly what shade of grey to paint his farm equipment (?).

Martha might be an expert at a lot of things, but, as demonstrated by the last five seconds, there’s no question what she does best is give a subtly-yet-expertly-dismissive side-eye.
