While some brands place an Insta-ban on the more exclusive of their shenanigans, those brands are not helmed by Karl Lagerfeld. Over the last few days he’s been plotting Chanel’s first pop-up shop — sorry, ephemeral boutique — which is in Aspen and exclusively stocks Chanel’s Paris-Dallas 2013/14 Métiers d’Art collection. Minus that headdress, hopefully.
I had basically no desire to go shop here as of two hours ago, because the Dallas collection is a tasseled nightmare and what’s the point in Aspen without snow. But after trolling the party on Instagram I have decided my life is incomplete until I’ve done shots off an actual shotgun and taken a $4,000 handbag horse riding. And you can count on Jen Brill, Tennessee Thomas, Laura Love, Atlanta de Cadenet, Harley Viera Newton, and Leigh Lezark to actually make those cake skirts and pussybows look decent.
Sorry that this Thursday thing has already trumped your entire weekend.
