The Real Life ‘Kim Kardashian: Hollywood’ Horror Stories Just Keep Coming

Say what you will about beezing and #neknominate — there are few things that paint a more portrait of humanity today than Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. Since its launch the iPhone game has been projected to earn $200m by the end of the year, and has garnered a 4.5 rating on iTunes from 31,229 voters and counting. The game allows you to “Create your own aspiring celebrity and rise to fame and fortune!” You do this not by creating sex tapes but by pursuing fashion and modeling opportunities, moving into Parisian hotel suites, and gaining millions of fans. It’s The Sims for the selfie generation. So long, Mortimer Goth, hello shady acting agent Simon.

The difference, though, is that of the few real choices you’re actually given in the Kim Kardashian game, one of them is the option to waste your hard-earned real-life dollars as a shortcut to actually earning K-dollars. A Jezebel writer admits spending almost $500 so far. Twitter is a terrifying collage of teens, 20-somethings, and $25 increments that could have been far better spent at happy hour. But no story is as sad as that of author Ayelat Waldman’s 11-year-old son Abe, who has been left distraught after finding himself $120 out of pocket following a weekend Kardashian Hollywood binge session.

Waldman is pissed.

“WARNING parents,” she posted on Facebook yesterday. “The Kardashian Hollywood game somehow bypassed our parental in-app purchase controls. Our poor 11 year old spent $120 in 2 days. He’s crying hysterically. He can’t believe he lost so much money. A pox on those vile scumbag Kardashian pigs and their app designers.”

She continued the rant for her Twitter followers:

It could happen to even the child of the most financially stealthy parent:

These are not the parents still figuring out how to do a status on The Facebook:

And you know she’s not donating that money to charity.

Luckily good can come of evil:

But this is still a heart-rending tale:

There is no moral to this story. Kardashian: Hollywood is a curse upon an already-doomed society. Do you have your own Kardashian Hollywood horror story? Share in the comments.
