On Monday, we almost got to see a little more of Snooki than we ever wanted to (heads up: it’s kinda NSFW), Tyra Banks apologized for an ANTM promo clip featuring a girl with the world’s smallest waist, and we drummed up a guide to fun Fashion’s Night Out events in New York City and across the globe. Also, the NYPD discovered that criminals have taken to hiding drugs and small weapons in their underwear.
Tuesday marked the beginning of one fashion brand and the end of another. Adam Levine of Maroon 5 fame announced he’d be creating a clothing line, and the world of business journalism announced that American Apparel is more or less headed out of business. And while Simon Doonan was busy creating halloween costumes for this fall, MAC announced that it would cancel shipments of its makeup collaboration with Rodarte.
Wednesday started off somewhat happier. We found out Tim Gunn would make a cameo appearance on Gossip Girl, and then we watched Rachel Zoe and Brad Goreski deal with Naomi Campbell. Martha Stewart got a Barbara Walters-esque interview special in which she’ll talk to fashion industry giants, and someone offered Anderson Cooper $1 million to get rid of his gray hair.
On Friday we got the happy news that Miranda Kerr is four months pregnant, and Whitney Port revealed that she’s going to be featured in Maxim. Former Anna Wintour assistant and author of The Devil Wears Prada Lauren Weisberger talked about what it was really like to work at Vogue, and a Muslim Disney employee sued the company because it told her she couldn’t wear her hijab in view of park guests.
