Giving us all another reason to realize that everything you see on the internet is a lie, fashion blogger Dana Suchow of Do the Hot Pants has revealed what her street style pictures look like before they’re nipped and tucked with Photoshop.
In a post titled “Photos I Wish I Hadn’t Photoshopped,” Suchow calls herself out for intentionally misleading readers with frequent use of the airbrush tool. “In my ongoing mission to lift the veil that is currently suffocating us women,’ she tells readers, “I realized that I, Hotpants, haven’t been entirely truthful with you.”
“I know it might only look like an inch or 2 removed from my waist, or a couple zits blurred here and there, but my stomach and my skin have been huge insecurities for me my entire life. So me revealing these images to you are a HUGE DEAL 4 ME & not to be taken lightly. I’m putting my flaws out there, as little or as big as they seem, so please respect that this isn’t easy for anyone.”
TBH I’m having trouble discerning any visible difference between the body shots other than all the red paint, but as someone known to spend long periods of time coaxing invisible pimples out of my skin just so I can eradicate them I know one person’s mountain is another’s molehill. I’m considering getting Suchow to gloss over my Tinder profile pics.
This is what fashion blogs really need more of — MS Paint. Kidding, it’s honesty.
