If there was anything Tom Ford could do to make his women’s collection more exclusive, it would be taking it out from under the fast-moving and impatient guise of New York Fashion Week. And that’s exactly what he’ll be doing for his fall presentation.
The Telegraph reports that Ford will show during London Fashion Week, and that his presentation will stick to a similar format as the show he had in New York last September: there “will only be a small presentation for international monthly magazines.”
Accordingly, there’s no indication as to when the show will happen or where it will be — other than somewhere in London between the 18th and 23rd of this month, of course.
Ford’s last (and first) women’s presentation was held in his Madison Avenue boutique during spring fashion week. Ford recruited famous women like Beyonce and Daphne Guinness to model his clothes, allowed only one photographer (Terry Richardson) into the show and narrated the entire thing himself. Only 100 people were invited to attend.
We’re guessing the London presentation will follow similar guidelines, which leads us to wonder who will be in the show. Perhaps Alexa Chung and Emma Watson will strut their stuff in the show alongside Kate Moss? We’d also die to see Naomi Campbell and Victoria Beckham. We also have to wonder how long it’ll be before Ford will allow his fall collection to be photographed, as he put a three month press and red carpet embargo on his last collection.
But no matter who walks in the show, or when photos of it pop up online, we’re sure it’ll be a sensation. Because is there anything that Tom Ford does that isn’t sensational?
