We’ve never been one to shy away from a borrowed-from-the-boys look. From Yves Saint Laurent’s iconic Le Smoking suit to the paragon of androgyny Katherine Hepburn, we’ve never been sparse on inspiration, but since we are not exactly on a designer quota, we’ve often set our sights on the high street and returned empty handed. So when Topshop’s Fall 2013 modern suiting collection landed in our inbox, it was as if our minds had been read.
First off, since the Chanel’s Metiers d’Art show in Scotland we’ve been dreaming in tartan and now that the collection boasts the plaid pattern, all we have to do is walk down Broadway and suit up. If you’re more of a minimalist, the rest of the sharp-cut blazer and trousers are monochromatic and come in deep blue, rich oxblood, black, and black-and-white (so Bianca Jagger we could die).
Fall now feels like it’s light-years away, but thankfully we have the lookbook and can use our imagination to build our entire wardrobes around it in the meantime. this is some kind of spaceship or something.
