Oh, to be young, rich, gorgeous and wearing a pastel-colored evening gown on a 1940s-inspired cover of Vanity Fair. That’s what’s happening to Rooney Mara, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain and a slew of other actresses on the cover of the magazine’s annual Hollywood issue.
Mario Testino shot the ladies in what must have been one hell of a scheduling feat. In addition to Mara and Chastain (both Academy Award nominees) everyone else on the cover has had a gigantic year at the movies. Paula Patton was in the new Mission Impossible movie, Adepero Oduye had great success in Pariah and everyone still loves Shailene Woodley in The Descendants. The list goes on. Literally.
We’ve included a breakdown of who’s sitting where on the cover below (some of the actresses are either so washed out or digitally altered enough that it can be a little hard to tell who’s who when you look at the cover in its entirety). Take a look, watch the behind-the-scenes video under that and tell us what you think. Will you be snagging this issue? It hits newsstands in New York and Los Angeles this week.
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
