While it may be true that all of the biggest stories of the night happened at the Academy Awards ceremony (and, ok, on the red carpet beforehand), we’ve always been partial to a good after party ourselves, and yesterday’s annual Vanity Fair bash may hold the honor of being the most star-studded of them all.
Best Actress winner Jennifer Lawrence ditched her Christian Dior couture gown and its dramatic, trip-inducing train in favor of a slinky silver Calvin Klein that might as well have been designed with the statue in mind. Talk about a perfect accessory! Anne Hathaway likewise switched up her gown, changing into a custom gray-blue Saint Laurent number with an embellished neckline and, fortunately, no ill-placed darts. We have to wonder if she had any awkward encounters with Valentino at the event after ditching her custom made gown, or whether he was kept plenty busy chatting up fellow designers like Tory Burch, Diane von Furstenberg, and Tom Ford.
Our other favorites from the soirée included Solange‘s sunny sequined Emilio Pucci number, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley romantic lilac Valentino, and Diane Kruger‘s voluminous Giambattista Valli mini, because, let’s face it, not one other person there could have pulled that one off.
See these looks and many, many (seriously, so many!) more in the gallery below:
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
