In November, Vena Cava was reportedly in serious financial trouble and it looked like founders Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai would have to shutter the 8-year-old company. Now the duo has confirmed a deal with Li & Fung subsidiary LF USA that would keep Vena Cava afloat.
According to WWD, Mayock and Buhai will retain creative control of their label and use LF USA’s production and sourcing departments to expand their brand. According to Buhai: “We have ideas for homeware and for men’s wear. We are interested in doing more print publications, little movies and eventually one day we’d like to have our own stores.”
Welcome back to the game, ladies.
